Swallows read books about wildlife and helping their community. We planted native plants to attract wildlife to our Backyard Garden and made seed bombs to plant at a later date. Students completed packets to guide them through their student-led conferences and put finishing touches on work for their conference packets. In math, first graders worked on adding multiples of ten to a two-digit number. They determined if addition and subtraction equations were true or false. First Graders may now complete assignments through Module 5 Lesson 19. Second graders continued practicing strategies for solving 3-digit addition and subtraction problems within 1,000. Second Grade students can complete any pages in their Module 4 homework books up through Lesson 12.

FGCS Spring Garden Work Party & Donuts! Thursday, April 18th, 10am-2pm During spring conferences, please drop by the school garden with your family. We need volunteer help wrestling weeds and getting the garden in shape for spring planting. Tools and gloves provided. Also donuts and fruit! BYO water bottle and weed-pulling muscles! Please make sure you send your child to school with a rain jacket, a water bottle and rain boots (even when the weather report predicts no rain). We will be spending more time outside as the weather gets warmer. Weather is unpredictable so a jacket and boots keep everyone comfortable, and water bottles are important because children get thirsty at recess, P.E. and during outings to the garden.
