We sure missed everyone during our unplanned week apart! We hope you were able to stay cozy and enjoy some time with your children, even though we know that the last minute changes caused many to have to get creative. The week before last we read about light and shadow, energy and bioluminescence. On Thursday we had a guest teacher, Nate, help us with a light energy lab, and we had a music class with Mackenzie. We have been learning about different elements and features of stories as we work on writing our personal narrative stories. In math first graders worked to solve addition equations by regrouping addends using a number path (similar to a number line) to make one of the addends 10. We also worked on a cumulative growth assessment. First Graders may now complete assignments through Module 3 Lesson 14. Second graders practiced decomposing a ten to solve two-digit subtraction problems with regrouping. Second Grade students can complete any pages through Module 2 Lesson 22.
Reminder: Please have your child keep a full change of clothes in their backpack. It is often necessary, especially during this cold, wet weather!
